Contemporary Blues Artist of the Year – UK Blues Awards 2025
On 16th April of this year, Alice was awarded Contemporary Blues Artist of the Year for the second year in a row at the prestigious UK Blues Awards. Organised annually by the UK Blues Federation, the event celebrates the finest talent in British blues. Nominees are chosen by a panel of over 1,500 industry experts and UKBF members, with winners selected through a public vote, making the awards a rare blend of peer recognition and fan support.
This year’s ceremony took place at the iconic Stables in Milton Keynes, in proud partnership with Marshall Amplification, and was hosted by legendary broadcaster and blues singer Paul Jones. The evening was filled with standout performances and appearances from major names in the scene, including “Whispering” Bob Harris and Marshall co-founder Terry Marshall, who presented awards to rising stars and industry legends alike.
Alice was nominated alongside an exceptional lineup of fellow artists—Dom Martin, Thomas Heppell, Troy Redfern, and Will Wilde—and was announced as the winner by Kev Hickman of Rhythm Room Music School. The category honours contemporary blues performers who bring innovation, soul, and originality to the genre, and Alice’s second win marks a continued celebration of her distinctive style, which fuses blues with funk, soul, and personal, poetic lyricism.
Despite arriving at the event under the weather and having completely lost her voice due to illness, Alice appeared on stage to accept the award with warmth and gratitude. In a written message later shared online, she said:
“I’m so incredibly grateful for this. The talent in this category was ridiculous—it’s a real honour to be among them, let alone win again. Thank you all so much to everyone who voted, and to the blues community for continuing to lift me up—even when I can’t make a sound!”
The night closed with an emotional all-star jam, featuring members of Alice’s band along with Elles Bailey, Kyla Brox, Will Wilde, Chloe Josephine and more. Together, they paid tribute to those the community had lost in recent years with a moving rendition of Warren Haynes’ song“Soul Shine”.
Alice sends her heartfelt thanks to the UK Blues Federation, the voters, her band, her ‘A-team’, her fans, and everyone who’s supported her journey so far.
